By now, I’m sure you’ve heard of critical race theory, as it is a trend that seems to be taking over our nation, or at least the “wokest” or farthest left of companies and schools.
Among the most recent to accept this “anti-racist” ideology is none other than the famous Walt Disney corporation.
As it has been recently leaked, the media giant has begun a new program called “Reimagine Tomorrow,” which focused on training their employees on “diversity and inclusion.” And of course, this includes sessions on white privilege, systemic racism, white fragility, etc.
For a while now, the sessions have been kept under wraps by the company. (Perhaps they’ve seen that those who “go woke” tend to also “go broke.” But, as more and more employees are forced to undergo so “training,” I’m sure you won’t be shocked to learn that quite a few aren’t exactly thrilled with the classes and, therefore, have spilled the beans.
Christopher F. Rufo of The City Journal has the opportunity to speak to a small number of these “whistleblowers” and obtain documents that outline the training. Naturally, all Disney employees have talked on the condition of anonymity.
As Rufo wrote, the employees agree that the “Reimagine Tomorrow’ program has become deeply politicized and engulfed parts of the company in racial conflict.”
Rufo explains that the program is made up of several modules, all focusing on critical race theory ideology
The first, titled “Allyship for Race Consciousness,” teaches employees to “‘take ownership of educating (themselves) about structural anti-Black racism.’” This means that they don’t “‘rely on (their) Black colleagues to educate them,’ because it is ‘emotionally taxing.’”
Additionally, the module explains how “systemic racism and transphobia” have been a constant in America since its birth as a nation and that the only way white employees can overcome that is to “work through feelings of guilt, shame, and defensiveness to understand what is beneath them and what needs to be healed.”
Disney instructs its employees to “challenge colorblind ideologies and rhetoric” like All Lives Matter and instead learn to listen to and emphasize with their “Black colleagues.” Just remember not to “question or debate” them…
Another module, titled “What Can I Do About Racism?” teaches employees to reject “equality” in favor of “equity.”
It asks white employees to question and “reflect” on their privilege, asking themselves “whether or not your wealth, income, treatment by the criminal justice system, employment, access to housing, health care, political power, and education might be different, if you were of a different race.”
Disney also works with the YWCA on a separate program, known as the “21-Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge.”
The “challenge” asks participants to “fill out a white privilege ‘checklist’” and then another on “white fragility.” These help the employees to understand just how much they’ve “internalized racism and white fragility.
As Rufo writes, “finally, at the conclusion of the 21-day challenge, participants are told they must learn how to ‘pivot’ from ‘white dominant culture’ to ‘something different.’ … Competition, power hoarding, comfort with predominantly white leadership, individualism, timeliness, and comprehensiveness are white dominant values that perpetuate white supremacy culture – and must be rejected.”
I’m sorry, but individualism, timeliness, and comprehensiveness?
How are those things promoting white supremacy? Furthermore, how is it wrong to be on time for something or fully comprehend their surroundings or teachings? And don’t you dare tell me that minority groups don’t support individuality.
But I digress…
Instead of those apparently, “evil” values, the program encourages participants to support ideas like reparations, defunding the police, donating to “anti-white supremacy work such as your local Black Lives Matter Chapter,” and “decolonize(ing) your bookshelf.”
Of course, they want you to donate to BLM… I’m sure that’s who’s behind most of the reading materials provided and curriculum.
But as the employees told Rufo, “the political environment at the company has intensified in recent months,” with employees receiving an increase in “daily memos, suggested readings, panels, and seminars that (are) all centered around antiracism.”
Given that a vast majority of Disney’s viewers and customer base are proving to come out strongly against critical race theory and the wrongful indoctrination of their children, I don’t see the “politicization” getting any better before it gets worse. And if they aren’t careful, they could soon find themselves without funding, just like the NBA.
