You’ve likely heard of the recent and many attacks by anti-fascist group Antifa. Members of the black-clad group have organized attacks on Trump supporters, news reporters, journalists, and just about anyone who would stand in their way or even be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

And yet, the ones who carry out these acts of violence very rarely receive any sort of punishment, even if they are initially arrested. Charges are dropped, sentences reduced, and the crimes are forgotten. And the mainstream media is right there every step of the way to back them up.

They justify their actions, saying they are “fighting fascism.” But they seem to completely ignore the fact that they are using violence and illegal activities to do so. Some have even glorified the group, such as CNN’s Chris Cuomo.

He has made a point of painting them in a favorable light more than once, comparing them to the US military storming the beaches of Normandy during World War II. He says they are fighting for a “good cause,” even if he says he doesn’t justify violence.

But isn’t that precisely what he is doing. Isn’t that the definition? Saying something generally thought of as wrong is ok for one reason or another.

Don Lemon, also from CNN, has justified Antifa and its members in recent months. Lemon says that, while no one supports violence, the group is fighting fascism, and “no organization is perfect.”

However, just as US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has done, justifying this group’s actions is, in fact, supporting violence. The group is known for violence and even plans for it. So, to say they are doing a good thing in any form is promoting violence.

And, of course, when a member of this “anti-fascist” group gets any form of punishment, the media is quick to focus their liberal agenda elsewhere. No attention is drawn to the obvious wrong these people have done, and thus, their crimes are forgotten, if they were even known in the first place.

The case of Antifa member David Campbell is no different.

On January 20, 2018, Mike Cernovich hosted a “Night for Freedom” event in Manhattan. Campbell, age 32, was one of about 80 members of the violent prone group to antagonize the event and cause destruction.

During that time, Campbell was seen punching and choking a 56-year-old man who happened to be in the area. Witness Ali Thomas, age 24, said, “I saw him hit the old man. One hit. He swung hard. He hit him hard. The old man’s head hit the curb.”

According to the NY Daily News, the victim went into cardiac arrest after the attack and was taken to a local hospital where it was noted he was in stable condition.

Thankfully, this agitator and criminal was brought to justice.

Campbell was caught and arrested and initially charged with assault for strangulation, assault of a police officer, possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and loitering. This week the case was finally brought before a judge where Campbell plead guilty to two counts of felony assault and sentenced to 18 months of incarceration, according to the District Attorney’s office.

And this doesn’t look like it will be the end of it for Campbell.

Cernovich told the New York Post, “When Antifa attacked a 56-year-old man, silence from the press. Now that the criminal case is closed, I will also be taking legal action against Mr. Campbell and his confederates. It is time to find out who is funding Antifa.”

He couldn’t be more correct. The longer we let this organization cause destruction and pain in our communities, no matter what they claim their cause is, the further our country goes down the drain. Since when is violence more important than our nation’s freedom and safety?

We have to ask ourselves, what exactly is being proved by beating up and almost killing a middle-aged man? Does that prove that we aren’t fascist? I think not. If anything, it demonstrates the opposite that these members are willing to completely oppress anyone who dares to think differently or appear to support those differences. After all, isn’t the definition of fascism?

According to Dictionary.com, fascism is a system that forcibly suppresses opposition and criticism and emphasizes aggressive nationalism. Sound familiar? Antifa perfectly personifies the definition of fascism. Talk about irony and hypocrisy.

It’s time to see them for what they actually are and end them once and for all.
